The ofi'ering totalled 26^34 baleq and represeated the usual types of wool sold at the third auetion of the qqasem In quality the oSering did not comq njj to the class of wool sold at the corrie-* sponding sale last year, many pf thq clips having suffered, from thq qffqeta of the wet season. .Very little supar wool wai Included, but these few lines met with keen competition. Much of thq wool showed too much yolk-stain, A good proportion of thq pffering comprised buek-coumfcry clipp, with crossbreds from the "W^st Coaigf and late-shorn Peninsula floeks. Mere piece wools and erutchings wero pgei> ed than usnal, growers having hqld these types back in their degire to elear the main part of their clips at th© attraetive pricqs ruljng at the earlier saies, The best price during thq aeqraing was 3d|d, paid for fqur bales gf fugqr half bred owo branded Denbrae, Merinq went up to 22dj this price being reslised on four bales of super combing branded Gerard, -The best pricg fgr crossbrod was 18|d, paid for 12 bries ©I hogget, brand ZlH. Corriedale made to 22|d, the wool being branded Glenruoife. Half-bred pieees made to 20d, the best price for Corriedale pieces being IffcU Merino pieces went up to 18|d, paid for 21 bales in the big Algiduq clip. Six baleis of super geoured laabs wool made 22$d, the brand being G over D G. On ihe first four catalogues, whichi were sold by 1 o'qloek, about 13,900 bales, or more than half the offering, had been disposed ©f. Passings almost negligible, amounting to lesa than enq-half qf one per cent.
