Mr E, L. Cullen, M.P., left Hastings this morning for Rotorua where be will join the Prj'me Minister, th© *Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, in an investigation of native affairs in that distriet. Mr Brendan P. Mapgfield, F.Inst., P.A., superintendent of parks and gardens, Invercargin, late of J. N. Afiderson and Son, Ltd., Napier, is a visitoi: to Napier, Mr A. Brooke-Taylor has returned to Hastings from a visit to Gisborne. Mr Brooke-Taylor, although 86 years of age, is still in enjoyment of remarltably gooa health, and drove'his own car on thq trip. Lieutenant-Colonel A. J. Manson, M.O., E.D., left Hastings yesterday for Dannevirke where he wjll command the annual camp of the Hawke's Bay Regk ment. Mr J. L. Stoufc. S.M., has been reappointed to the Levin C-ourt in place of Mr John H. Salmon, who has been visiting stipendiary magistrate in the Manawatu distriet for tbe past twp years. Mr Salmon will preside at the Wanganui CourtThe Very Rev. J. A, Julius, Dean of Christchurch, has resigined the arohdeaconry qf Christchurch, which he has held for some years in addition to hh otber office, and will be eucceeded at the end of March by the Rev. A. K. Warren, vicar of St. Mary'g, Merivale. Detective J. Harding, who has been statfoned at the Christchurch Detective office for some years, has been transferred to the Commissioner'^ office ip. Wellington. He will be replaced by Detective- Sergeant J. B. Bickerdike, formerly of Napier. Mr F, W. Sutton, Chief Inspector of Stock of the .Department of Agriculture for the Wellington distriet, which includes Hawke's Bay^retires on superannuation at the end of the present montk. When li© severs his active association with the department Mr Sutton intends to reside in New Plymouth, ' where he was stationed for many years prior to his promotion to Wellington. Mr Aubrey Dyke, the new professional of the Maraenui Golf Club, was introduced to members at the annual general meeting last night. He is a well-known golfer in New Zealand, and will be remembered for his sterling contest against A. J. Shaw in the New Zealand open championship three years ago, when he was beaten for the title on the 37th hoje. Mr Dyke comes from Wanganui.
