AUCKLAND, Last Night. J "I am pleased that I will be a fellOWj passenger of the members of the New! Zealand cricket team on my way to! England," said the Prime Minister (Mr.; Savage), speaking at a farewell func*. tion to iive Auckland members of the New Zealand team to visit England. He; wished the team every success and said1 it could rely on his fullest assistance. . Referring to his trip to England Mr. Savage said: "If I am stumped I will borrow off the cricketers." The Prime' Minister said that with shorter work-' ing hours and more time for recreation cricketers could be sure the game would; not suffer from neglect. i "The trail to England has beenj blazed by two previous New Zealand} elevens and I am sure that the present j team will fully uphold the fine reputa*j tion made by the previous teams, ' ' said! Mr. W. R. Fee, chairman of the Auck-1 land Cricket Association, in con£*xtu«l lating the players who had been chosen1 for the' tour.
