RACING CONTROL

H.B. District Committee Meets The Hawke's Bay District Committee met in the Jockey Club Office. Those present were Messrs G. D. Beatson (chairman), J. H. Macniven, W. J. Wood, C. E. Twist, F. P. KeUy, G. Ebbett, W. H. Gaisford and J. J. Gatenby. The Racing Conferenee advised that various licences had been dealt with and also reported on various jockeys at Hawke's Bay meetings. The Dannevirke Racing Club dates for the meetings controlled by the Woodville and Waipukurau Cluba on their respective racecourses were approved by the Racing Conferenee. Applications for trainers', jockeys' and apprentice jockeys' licences were approved and gentlemen riders' certificates were recommended. Programmes of the Dannevirke Racing Club at Woodville on April 20 and May 1, Hawke's Bay Jockey Club autumn meeting on May 8 and 12 (Coronation meeting) were approved by the committee. Lists of fines and suspensions and inspectors' reports from Wairoa, Woodville and Poverty Bay were confirmed.
