Japanese Competition , Disastrous t LONDON, March 10. In the House of Lords speakers pressed the Government to disclose its inten- 1 jtions regarding Pacifle Shipping. Lord Strabolgi said since the question was ventilated in the Lords one British shipping line had been extinguished and the remaindor were threatened. The sifcuation was serious and of great imperial concern. He also referred to Japanese competition between India and Japan. "I am informed that about 80 per cent. of Indo-Japafl sfiipping is Japanese whereas 80 per ceut. was British." Lord Munster said no agreement so far had been reached between the Dominions coucerned. Britaiu formulated proposals which had been forwarded to the Dominions. "The Government realises the necessity of a decision as soon as possibie, It is fully aware that Japanese competition is severely feit throughout the Empire and is doing all it can to assist British industry, ' >
