C.I.O.'S Fight for Supremacy (Received 11, 8.45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Mareh 10. Mr. John Lewis has announced that the C.I.O. is starting the creation oiS State labour federations, city and cen-i tral labour bodies as rivals to similar bodies existing within the American Federation of Labour, thus making ai ■final break with the federation. It is also announced that the C.I.O. is soon to start the organisatiOn ofi drives to enroll most of the 2,250,000 1 workers in the textile and oil refining! industries. Mr. William Green, leader of the La-, bour Federation, said the action of the1 C.I.O. is only what he predicted a year ago. Meanwhile the strikers hold full control of the Chrysler plants at Detroit and the Hudson plant has also been closed, but General Motors' plants at Flint have re-opened. Govcrnor Murphy is prcpared to fly from Florida to xonew his peace cfforts.
