Traffic-Inspector Yates

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. The following is a copy of a letter which it is proposed to send to Traffic Inspector W. E. Yates on his leaving to take up duty with the Transport Department. A copy of the letter was sent to the Patangata County Council for its approval at the monthly meeting yesterday, and when all the counties concerned have approved, the Hawke's Bay County Council will forward the letter in its final form to the various counties for the affixing of the official seals. "To Inspector W, E. Yates: "On February 1, 1937, Wallace Edwin Yates, who for the past ten years has* held the position of chief Traffic Inspector for the Joint Counties in the Hawke's Bay Distriet, took over his new duties with the Main Highways Board. ' ' The council of each connty desires to express its Tegret at Inspector Yates 's departure and to place on record its appreeiation of an official who has been outstanding in the performance of his duties. He has won the respect of all those with whom he has come in contact by his efficiency, loyalty, and fearlessness; and sincerest good wishes are extended to him for a fulJ measure of success and prosperity in his future career."
