REGENT THEATRE
'ZEICFELD" — SATURDAV "The Great Siegfeld" comes to th* Regent Theatre on Saturday as tha finest musical drama ever mad© for tbe screen. Not only does it contain musical spectacles of the best quality but, in a story suggested by the life of the one and only Ziegfeld, it presents drama that will draw tears to the eyes of the most blase theatregoer. Topping this 5-ring circus of entertainment are found William Powell in the role of Ziegfeld, Myra Loy as Billie Burke and Luise Rainer as Anna Held. J VVithout contradiction, Powell does the finest work of his career as the great glorifier of beauty. .For her role of Anna Held Luise Rainer won the acting award for this year and Myra Loy as the lovely Billie Burke is at her lovliest. The drama alone could well be classed as one of the best of the screen, but this pieture does not stop with drama. It has music and beautiful girls presented in th© most spectacular fashion in the many amazing numbers. Some of the tunes were made famous in Ziegfeld stag© shows, and otliers, particularly "You," were written originally for this extravaganz^. Ncaring the End. "The Garden of Allah" will he shown at the Regent Theatre again touight and to-morrow. Marlene Pietricb never looked lovlier than in this full Technicolour romance in the desert. Charles Boyer, French star, is her lead* ing man. ^
