When it was removed reccntly for installatiou of a larger main, & section of the 109-year-old pipe which has been serving Lynehburg, Virginia, U.S.A.. as a water main was fonnd in good condition. Jt is believed to be the seaond oldest cast„iron pipe in Axnerica. The pipe has been presented to the city's museum.
