COUNTRY DANCING CIRCLE OF HASTINGS TOWNSWOMEN
At the annual meeting of the conntry dancing circle of the Hastings Townswomen's Guild Mrs. Glenny presided over a good attendance of members. The annual report was read and adopted on the motion of Misses Rochfort and Wakelyn. The balance-sheet, which-showed a satisfactory credit balance, was adopted on the motion of Mesdames Glenny and S. E. Jones. The following committee was electod for the ensuing year: Misses F. Griffiths, J. Lovell-Smith, A. Rochfort, Wakelyn, Jones, Wyatt, Tyers, and Mrs. Jonqs. ' . If ciroumfitances are favourable the circle will meet on Wednesday evenings in future,, commencing on the third or fourth Wednesday in April. Mrs. S. I. Jones. was accorded a voto of thanks, which was earried by acclamation, for acting as pianist, and Mrs. Glenny a vote of thanks for presiding. Following is the annual report: — The country dancing circle commenced with a party on April 10, when there was a good attendance. The circle has met every Thursday in the Barrie Studio since April 23. We had 32 membens, but towards the end of the season the attendance was not so good. Somo of the members from the circle danced at the birthday party on July 9, and again at the fancy dress evening in November. Circle members were invitcd to Havelock North for the evening on July 9 and a most enjoyable time was spent. The circle closed its season with a party, to which a number of friends were invited. During the ovening a presentation was. made to Mrs. Jones, who has devoted so much of hcr time as pianist to the circle. Misses Wakelyn, Tyers, and Wyatt were presented with bouquets from members of the circle
