BELL USED AS FONT

Australian Naval Relic at Baptism (Received 10, 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, March 9. The bell of the former Australian submarine Otway, now stationed at Fort Gosport blockhouse, was used as a font for the baptism of a son of Lieut. D. Barrett, a member of tbe blockhouse garrison, and a son of Major Barrett, trainer to the Royal stables for three reigns. It was believed to be the first Roman Oatholie baptism on a British naval ship sinee the Reformation. The ceremony was condueted in the admiral 's cabin of the depot ship Dolphin.
