Fall of Gravea. While several men were working in the county metal pit on the Ormond-ville-Whetukura road on Monday afternoon there was a heavy fall of gravel, which, fortunately, was seen in time to enable the men to jump clear. The only damage sustained was to the lorry which was being loaded at the time. Norsewood Dance. The dance on Monday in the Norsewood Town Hall under the auspices oi the Oddfellows' Lodge was a splendid suecess. Patrons were present from as far away as Dannevirke, Waipukurau and neighbouring districts, and Avith the liberal local patronago the floor space was fully taxed. Messrs E. Mather aud R. Anderson were in control of the floor and programme, and their efforts to keep things moving with a swing were very successful, resulting in cverybody having a really enjoyable time. Mr W. Te Tau and his orchestra supplied excellent dance music which was thoroughly appreciated. Mr K. Staiger contributed . several en joyable extras. Two very clever tap dances were given by Miss Pat Over, of Hastings, for which she received hearty and well deserved applause. Mr Gver, her father, played for his daughter. A streamer and confetti dance eaused inuch merriment and was thoroughly enjoyed by participauts as well as onlookers. A very appetising supper was served by many willing helpers. Waiau Sports. At the annual meeting of the Waiau Sports Club, Mr. S. R. Mitchell wfts eleeted patron and Mr. H. D. Delautour president, Mr. Mcagher being secrctary. The sports are to be held on Easter Saturday and the finances being in a very healthy condition large entries are anjticipated. Cars in Collision. A collision occurred lato on Thursday night on the Marumaru road, Wairoa, about threc xnilcs from Frasertown. The cars involved were oue driven by Miss Spcnce, of Ruakituri ,and the other by a native, Billy Paku. No one was injured but the car driven by Miss Spenee was badly damaged and had to be towcd to a garage for repaim.
