Details of Prices on London Market CHEESE FIRM By arrangement with the Primary Products Marketing Department information of the London market position is supplied by the Dairy Board. Prices of New Zealand and various butters at close of business last week were as follows:— Salt butter— Per cwt. New Zealand •.... 89s to *90s Australian ........ 90s Danish (spot). 121s to 122s : Siberian 88s to 90s Ukranian ......... 8Ss to 90s Unsalted butter— New Zealand * 94s to 96s Australian 93s to 94s . Argentine ........ 84s to 90s Dutch 97s to*101s . ♦•Extra South - African butter is quoted " at 86s to. 88s. The Department reports market quiet' at end of this week. ' ' New Zealand butter is selling retail at lld per lb.; Danish at ls 2d per lb. The Imparial Economio Committee 's estimated stocks- of all butters in store are 771,710 boxes, compared with; 430,448 boxes at this time last year, , Cheese in Short Supply. ; The department. is advised that thej Cheese market is firm at higher prices j on available short supplies. Wholesale prices for cheese are:— Per cwt. N.Z., white .... 55s Od to 55s 6d N.Z., coloured . 55s 6d to 56s Od Australian ... 53s Od to 54s Od Canadian 71s Od to 72s Od Eng'sh, farmers 86s Od to 88s Od English, factory 49s Od to 52s Od The Canadian cheese market was steady; English factory market quiet.
