HAWEBA, Last Night. The winner of the art union first prize is Alfred Clarke, a dairy farmer, of Auroa, who claims to have had a ticket in every national art union conducted in New Zealand but never before won even a small prize. He descfibed his fortune as a great stroke of luck and said he intended to divulge his plans to nobody. Mr Clarke has been a resident of South Taranaki for 43 years, all; spent in dairy farming.
