Law Officer at Los Angeles Wounded STRIKERS SUSPECTED (Received 9, 8.45 a.m.) LOS ANGELES, March 8. IHstrict Attorney Buron Fitts, who investigated tbe slaying of Doheny in 1929 and wbo led an inquiry into tbe euicide of Paul Bern (Jean Harlow, th© film star's husband), in 1934, was wounded in tbe left arm by a sbot fired by one of four men wbo forced Mr Fitts's motor to tbe kerb in -a suburban street. Mr Fitts was unable to recognis© anv of th© oceupants of tbe otber motor, wbicb was rapidly driven away. Mr Fitts had been conferring with tbe Police Cbief at Santa Monica in regard to tbe strike at the Douglas aircraft works. He said be bad received threatening letters last week due to bis activity in obtaining conspiracy indietments against 3000 sit-down strikers in tbe Douglas plant. Mr Fitts was taken to hospital, wbere it is said bis condition is not serious.
