"LEADING THE EMPIRE"
British Labour M.P.'s Praise of N.Z. LONDON, March 8. A mernber of the Oommons, Mr. Tom Smith, who has returned from % tour of Australia, New Zealand and Canada, told the Daily Herald that the New Zealand Labour Government is leading the Empire in soeial legislation. He . added: "The tour was the finest edupational opportunity I have ever had ■and I shall advocate in the future a freer exchange pf delegates between, the Home, Dominions and other G$vernments. It would clear up a lot of misunderstandings. ' ' Mr. E. J. Turner, chairman of the| Institute of Export, in a letter to the! Daily Telegraph, praised Hon. WaWeri Nash's efforts to stimulate Anglo-New Zealand trade. He continued: "The exc'hange premium is not the least of the difficplties confronting British exporters to New Zealand. There is a feeling that something should be done to xomove the advantage Australia enjoys over British suppliers.
