t Surprise Win by Hunting Lodge TOTALISATOR INCREASE

PALMERSTON N., Last Night. The Rangitikei Racing Club 's autumn meeting was held yesterday, the weather being delightfully fine and warm. The attendance was large and race books were at a premium at an early hour. The totalisator investments amounted to £9452 10/-, as compared with £6835 lasfc year, the increase, which would have been bigger but l'or a four-horse race, being £2617 10/-. The Rangitikei Cup was won by the brilliant three-year-old Martara, under the steadier of 9.5, and tho issue was never in doubt after they had turiied for home, despite the determined ehallenges by Round Seore and Lapel. In the Bailey Memorial Handicap the winner was the little-fancied Hunting Lodge, who finished with a brilliant run to beat Land Tax and Jubilee Song.
