THE MONOSPAR PLANE
First Flights Carried Out UNUSUAL LINES The two~engined . Monospar 'plane, which has been aasembled at the Hawke's Bay and East Coast Aero Club'si hangars at Bridg© Pa, took the air for the first time on Friday, when test flights were conducted by Mr H. P. D- van Asch. representativ© of the mapping company who imported the 'plane. The plane attracted much interest in its flights, its lines being different from the general run of machines seen flying round Hastings. Th© plane' is a monoplane, and has twin tailplanes. The work of assembly was carried out by Mr Georg© TillsOn, the company' s ground ©ngineer. The monospar was fiown to Wanganui on Saturday for • €he North Island air pageant, and returned over the week-end. The actual flyingj time from Wanganui was just over one hour, but the maehine was not pushed, and a longer.rout© than the usuaJ direct flight was followed. The' maehine will be kept at the Hastings aero* dropie the headquartets of the company's activities.
