" TIMARU, Last Night. Speaking at Pleasant Point, Rev. Clyde Carr, M.P., national president of the New Zealaud Labour Party, stated that Government members of the Parliamentary Seleet Committee on. Education, of which he is chairman, was engaged nnder instruetions from .thc Minister of Education, draughting proposals based on recommendations of the Atmore xeport for the reorganisation of the education system. These proposals, having been subinitted to educational authorities, will later be placed before Ihe Select Committee as a whole when ! further evidence will be called. Congolidation and an amending Bill will then be introduced in Parliament. It 1 was thus-hoped to expodite the passing of the measure during nest session.
