Competitors are coming from Woodville, Pahiatua and Wanga- > nui. For these events only poplar logs . will be used. The first event will begin at 1 p.m. Open athletic events will commenco not before 2.15 p.m. About 60 horses are competing in thc liorse events. 'J'he Hastings Citizen.s ' Band will be in attendance, and as tlns is the first tinie that a silver band has been present at tlie sports, great interest is heing takeji in the districfc.
