H.B. PLAYERS ON TOUR

Visit to Gisborne and Wairoa Yisit To Gisborne and Wairoa — 12 lc. Players from the Hawke 's Bay Centre visited Gisborne and Wairoa during the week-end to return a visit made by the Gisborne bowlers last year. Jt WUS hoped to have rqpresentativqs from each of the twelve elubs in Hawke 's Bgy, but owing to Jastminute defectious only thirteeu players made the trip — five from Port Ahuriri, four from Kia Toa, and two each from Napier aud Havelpck North, the remaining eight clubs being unrepresented. The small attQndance was rather embarrassing to the executive of the Gisborne Bpwling Centre, as preparations had been. made for playing and enteftaining a much'larger number, The players were welcomed at the Gisborne green on Saturday morning by the Centre president, Mr. McKenzie, and the president of the club, Mr. Henderson. In the afternoon the visitors played at the Kahutio green, where they were welcomed by the club president, and at Wairoa they wete welcomed by Mr. J. Wilson, president of the Wairoa Club. The Hawke 's Bay players were the guests of the Gisborne Centre at the pictures, motor trips and electric light bowling tournaments, etc., and had a thoroughly enjoyable time, It is hoped to build this annual visit between the two centres into an important and enjoyable annual fixture.
