Drastic Measures Expected in Italy (Received 2, 8.45 a.m ) ROME, March 1 Drastic measures to counter the falling birthrate will be discussed by the Fascist Grand Counci! with a view to the immediate adoption, first, of a fivefold increase in the bachelor tax; sec- • ondly, confiscation of the property of childless married couples at their death; thirdly. the extension of the bachelor tax to couples with families not exceeding one child.
