(Received 2, 1,45 p.m.) CAPETOWN. Mareh 1. A woxnan who. is regarded as a medical miracle ig now an inmate of a hospital after havihg been dead for 17 minutes. After the anaesthetist had started ihe patient stopped breathing. The surgeon, through an abdominal incision, eompressed the heart rhythmieally for five minutes without response. He then injected into the heart ten minims of adrenalin and again eompressed t,he heart, which rpmained inert. While sewing the skin ineision, a suggestion of a groan was heard, followed by an unaecountably rapid and feeble pulse. The patient 's aria was subscquently amputated and she is progressing favourably. The patient, asked for her experiences while life was absent, stated that •he did not know anything that hapfcned. i
