Mr A. H. Stevenson left by train this morning on his return to Sydney by the Awatea^ Constable R. Goodson, of the Hastings Police Force, has resximed his dutxes, after a holiday spent at Kerikeri, Nwth Auckland. Mr Guy Barron, of the staff qf Murray Roberts and Co., Ltd., Hastings, has been transferred to the company's Waipukurau office and started his new duties yesterday, Mr Edmund Stewart, Napier, left yesterday for Wellington, where he attended last evening a business dinner in honour of Lora Nuffield, given by, ,1'epresentatives of th© varioxxs firms controlling his products in the Dominion. Mr. Thomas James Doole, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Doole, of Crownthorpe, has just received word that he has passed. in the four eubjeets for which he sat for his B.A. degree. Mr. Doole passed from the Crownthorpe School at the age of 13 with a junior national seholarship iii 1930 and attended* the Wellington College up to 1935. In 1932 ha gained a senior free piace and in 1933 he passed his unive"rsity entrance esamination. He was awarded the Moore Seholarship in 1934, and in 1935 the Wellington College Bhodes Seholarship. His further seliolastic attainments in 1935 were a9 follow: — Awarded higher leaving certificate, appeared on credit list of university entrance seholarship, head house prefect of the school, and also obtained a university bursary. He was alfio a mexnber of the Wellington College first fifteen. Last year he attended .Victoria University College, having won a Turubull seholarship. Mr. DoOle, who is now only 19 years of age, has decided to study law and is in the law office in Wellington.
