REGENT THEATRE
"EELOVED VAGABOND. ' ' Delightfully catchy songs sung in the inimitable Chevalier style, blended with a pretty story, serve to cnake "The Beloved Vagabond," to-mor-row's attraction at the Regent Theatre, a refreshing picture. It is a long time since Maurice Chevalier has been seen in a picture, but his popularity has npt waned. He appears as the gentleman turned vagabond when his fiancee marries another man. To forget, he departs to France, taking with him Asticot, a young lati, and they prepare to lead a vagabond life. En route they meet Blanquette, a young French girl, endeavouring to make a living by singing and dancing. All together the three make a charming team of entertainers and the story goes on to show their experienees in various parts of France. There are several catchy song hits in the picture. A good supporting programme ia screened. Final Screenings *' ' The Devil is a Sissy" concludes its season at the Regent to-night. Freadie Bartholomew is the star, and the picture relates the doings of a gang of h&rdened little sinners who realise the error of their ways.
