BOROUGH STAFF PICNIC
A Successful Outing results of sports The combined staffs of the Hastings Borough Couneil held their third annual picnic on Saturday in the grounds kindly lent for the occasion by Mr D. M. Priest at Mangateretere. A strong committee under the chairmanship of Mr Noel C. Harding, with Messrs L. J. Wright and C. Carrell as secretaries, was responsible for the excellent arrangements, which eontributed towards a most successful outing. The committee was successful in arranging a compnehensive programme of sports events. The greater nuinber of the trophies and prizes were donated by the townspeople, and during the presentation of the awards later in the afternoon, the Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, expressed the committee 's thanlts for the generous donations. The actual presentation of the prizes was made by the Mayoress, Mrs G. A. Maddison.
