TURF REMINDER
Waipukurau Jockey Club nominations close ' Horseowners and trainers are reminded that nominations for all events of the Waipukurau Jockey Club's autumn meeting on Easter Monday (March 29) and Saturday, April 3, will cloae with the seeretary, Mr W. G. Nightingale, on Monday, March 8, at 8 p.m. The club is offering no less than £1365 in stakes for the two days, £745 being distributed on Easter Monday and £620 on the following Saturday. The stake money is considerably in advance of that which the club, by the Rules of Racing, is required to give, particularly with regard to the second day's events in whicii the amount to be given is about four times the amount which the club is called upon to give. The principal event, the Waipukurau Cup, has £150 allotted to it, including a silver cup, while for the Flying Handicap and Ruataniwha Hack 100 sovs. each is given. On the second day the chief event carries with it a silver cup valued at 20 sovis. and 110 sovs. in specie, the President's Handicap having 700 sovs. stake money attached to it.
