For the first two months of thia year there were fewer births, bat more deaths and marriages registered in Napier than there were for the first two months of 1936. The figures are as follow (those in parentheses repfesent,ing the statistics ' for January. and February at'Iast year:— Births, 58.(74); deaths, 32 (26); marriages, 34 (29).
