REFEREE HOWLED DOWN
Wild London Crowd at Hockey Match LONDON, Feb. 27. Wild scenes oecurred at the world 's ice hockey championship match between England and Canada, owing to the action of the referee in sending off a British player, which incensed the crowd, who hurled pennies, oranges, apples, programmes and newspapers on the ice. They yelled: "We want a referee. ' ' The game was delayed for ten minutes, when an official appealed to the spectatora through a microphone: "The British players request you to behave like British sportsmen.
