Wairoa Union & Magistrate's Comment "NOT ALL HUMB.UG"

WAIROA, This Day. Strong exception was taken by the Wairoa Farmers' Union to remarks in the Magistrate's Court at Gore- last week by Mr. Freeman, who suggested that the cry made by farmers throughout the country that they could not get men wasj"all humbug." It was stated that the Wairoa Union had definite evidence of a shortage of skilled farm labour. Skilled men were drifting off farms on to Public Works and farmers had to take what was leffc — unprofitable pick and shovel men,
