Apar.t from his scientific work,. Nobel was one of the most interesting personalities of his day. At his death he bcqueathe.d to : his coun.' try the interest on over a million pounds. This is distributed as the fainmous Nobel Prizes to men or women who annually make the greatest contribution to science, literature, and peace.
