My own memory. does not go back that far, fof I ■ was not • born- -until- 1864, hut . my father worked for a shorf period on the • old Hawke's Bay Times as well as "on the Hawke's Bay Herald later ' ' • on; and -my recolieetion was- that ; he. worked for Mr. - T. B. Harding, Snr, I remember Mr W, W. Yates, but not. Mr. H. L. Yates, though I worked for several years on the Herald with the latter's son, H. O. L. (Charlie) Yates, - Mr. Mog- ! ridge is cne of the oldest news- ; paper men in the DQminion, and his reamniscences ' would niakq' interesting reading. '
