TWO CARS DAMAGED & CYCLIST HURT
Double Collision on Main South Road PASSENGERS UNINJURED A girl cyclist, Miss Kitty MoDonnell, was injured and two motor-cars were damaged considerably in a collision which occurred at the Tollemache road corner on the Main South road shortly after noon to-day. The injured girl received head injuries but was able to proceed to her home in Davis road nearby. The drivers of the cars concerned were Mr. J. E. F. Vogal, of Woburn road, Lower Hutt, and Mr. R. C. Macleod, of Hastings. The car driven by Mr. Vogal was travelling in the direction oi Wellington,- and when approaching the Tollemache road corner he saw the car driven by Mr. Macleod proceeding towards the corner down Tollemache road on his right. Mr. Vogal immediately applied his brakes, and the car skidded, swinging towards the left-hand side of the road, catching Mr. Macleod's car on the left front, breaking off a headlight and twisting the mudguard. Continuing on its way. Mr. Vogal's car swung onto the grass at the side of the road, and the right rear of his caT struck a cycle ridden by Miss McDonnell, who was riding in the same direction. The girl was thrown heavily to the ground^ and the cycle, attached to the car, was carried on. The car then struck a bump on the grass, and slewed completely ronnd, facing back in the direction of Hastings. Fortunately neither the1 drivers nor the passengers in the two cars were injured. The polieo were immediately notified and aie investigating. - \
