WAIPAWA, Last Night. The monthly sitting of the Waipawa Magistrate's Court was held this morning before Mr J. Miller S.M. O. R. Rusher, Waipukurau, restaurant' proprietor, appeared on charges of wilfully causing damage at the premises of the Empire Hote], Waipawa, hy breaking two panels of a door, and further of being on iicensed premises after hours. Constable Moss stated that the defendant appeared at the hotel in the evening under the influence of liquor. The licensee defused to serve him and asked him to leave the premises, whereupon he struck the door, causiug the damage referred to. Mr D. W. Neild (Waipukurau) appeared for the defendant and entered a plea of guilty to both charges. A fine of £3 was imposed on the first charge and the defendant was ordered to pay the cost of the damage done, £1 On the second charge he was convicted and fined £1 with costs 10/-. H. H. Fargher, Ongaonga, charged with carting stock at night without a permit, was convicted and fined £1 with costs 10/-. On the information of Traffio Inspector Yates, 0. Olark, Waipawa., was charged with riding a motor-cycl© on the footpath in the horough of Waipawa. Defendant appeared and pleaded guilty, and was fined 10/-, with costs 6/-. The following judgments were entered:— E. W. Bond" v.- F. J. Avison 7 j- costs ; O. Hansen r. G. Humphnes, claim £2 6/-, costs £1 6/6.
