MR S. % S. STRONG

GREYMOUTH, This Day. The death has occurred of Mr S. W. S. Strongj who was recentiy appointed first engineer in charge of Dominion mining) echemes since the amalgamation under the Labour Department. Mr Strong, a soh of Colonel W. J. Strong, of Dunedin, was oducafrfcsd at the Otago Boys' High School and the University of Otago School of Hines. He graduated in 1924. Later he was employed as pafroiling geologist in the Taranaki oilfields and was in charge of the gold-prospecting scheme under the Unemployment Board on the West Coast. Recentiy he nnderwent an operation. He was 37 years of age. He leaves a widow and two young) children.
