INTENSIVE FARMING

Our Own Correspondent.)

A Hobby That Pays at Waipukurau

(From

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. A Waipukurau resident recentiy took up farming as a hobby and, this year," took £150 off his twenty acres of land. The secret of his success lay in the intensive farming of his property for it is only that, he declares, .that can produce worthwhile results. Certain is it, in any case, that it was only this intensive farming that enabled him to run 115 ewes on his holding. His total expenses, including rent, top-dressing and shearing, amounted to only £30, -and this, from his total income of £190, left him with £160, a net profit of £8 per acre.
