WELLINGTON, Last Night. A number of important decisions concerning the grading of post-primary schools and free plaues at these schools, were xevealed by the Minister of Education, Hon. P. Fraser, ln an- interview to-day. ' ' « ' Usually the gradihg of ' Hecondnry, Technical and combined schools, sepondary departments1 of- Distriet- High Schools and Intormediate Schools, is determined by the roll numbers on' Marcn 1, but this year March.lij wiU be. flub:; atituted for the usual date except in the case of schools openlng later than •Mareh 1, these being gradod fourtoen days after their respective opOning dates. : In the case of the grading of schpplfl laffected adversely throu^h pupils findiing positions owing to the'delay in the topening of such schools, no general llaxation of ataffing regulations. i», to be made, each case being considered on itsi merita. • • ■" : ; It has been decided to continae the jconcessions that have been granted to |fee-paying pupils in all typep of Governiment post-primary schools., . ; 1 Approval is also given of the extension of junior froe places for an additio'nal year in the case of those pupils who f ailed to secure senior free places in 1936 and also of the extension of senior free places beyond the end of the yeaf in which the holders attain the age of nineteen years, provided in both caaCs, ithat parents are uhable to provide ,tho inecessary fees for the tuition of the ■ehild after the expiry of the free place,
