FARMERS' UNION
Twyford-Raupare Branch A' satisfacfory meeting of -fhe members of- the Twyf ord-Raupare branch of the Farmers ' IJnion was held in the school on Monday evening last to discuss general business. Mr D. E. MeLeod presided. The members stood in silence as a "mark of respect to the passing of a very worthy memher in the late Mr Tait, whose loss is much regretted. Mr R. S. Trotter was unanimously elected as delegate to represent the branch at the execntive meetings. It was decided to send four Temits to the provincial meeting fo be held in Hastings on the 27th xnst. Then followed a lengthy 'discussion on the Government 's attitude on the marketing of butter. Mr R. Arnott gave his views on the ideals of the Farmers * Union as a bodv in opposing legislation detrimental te the f&rmer's interests. It' was nr^ed that- every farmer -shonld be' a member" to help his own interests.
