COMMISSIONER'S 0UTL00K Congratulations to "Eobin Hood'' (Scouter A. Absolom) for gaining his P'&rt 1 eertificate of the Eover Wood Badge. Also to "Pleetfoot" (Scouter E. Haraki) who gained his Part 1 eertificate, Scout Section. Pour Gilwell certificates have come to our district this season. Good work! May your boys get the benefit of your. knowledge gained by this course. Good News. I understand that restrictions have been greatly reduced, so your meetings and camps may now continue. Scouters are nevertheless to take all care to see that meeting rooms are well ventilated. Aleo strict obedience to bathing rules are adhered to. Long swimming periods and sun-bathing must not be iu* dulged in. (First get the sun, says you.), Our Chiefs Birthday. This month, February 22, is our Chiefs birthday. He is eighty years of age and can touch his toes without bending his knees. It is hoped that our usual Founder's Day service will be held combined with the Guides. 1 want you all to make a special effort to be present this year. Particulars will be given later. Coarunissioners' Conference. As I told you last week, I was of£ to Palmerston to attend a conference. lt was a great success and commissioners repr&aenting the whole of the North Island were there. Many aspects of Scouting were discussed, and it was very heipful to share our various problems and to hear what other districts were doing. IWe spent a very iiappy wcek-end. Unfortunately, I was unable to continue my journey to visit "XJncle" Sandford as I received a message to say he had had a bad turn and could not see visitors. However, we sent him a message of gratitude and appreciation for his splendid service to the Scout movement. — Cheerio! 1 ' LITTLE JOHN."
