Moderate Fields Engaged The annual flxture of the Opunake RacTng Club will be. held to-morrow, but with only. moderate fields, the two most important events having filled best. The maiden race should see Gay Step, Kentucky Song,' Kia Ora and the improviug Fafner att'ractiug attention. Seven have paid up in the open Flying with Lady Kyra-at 9,5 givii^g away 18 lbs. to her nearest attoiidant. Trebus and Mustang are two smart ha'cks, while The Tiger may not yet be a spent f orce. Cheval de Vdlee 's win in the Taranaki Stakes miist be cousidered with the Vaals three-year-old let in at the minimum. The three hack races should furnish interesting contests with recent winners in Colleen Gain, International, Autumn Leaf, ,Ned Cuttle. Corowa and Eara participating. The Opunake Cup has drawn a field of eight with Friesland top-weight at 8.11. As this Australian-bred geldiug has won his last two races he must be one to dispute favouritism. Tahurangi, Davistock, Bantry, and Red Sand will add interest to the contest... The following may carry most monetary support in their . respectlva events:— ' • Patiki Hurdles', 1$ mile. — Bezaine.
