The Minister of Defence, Sir Archdale Parkhill is expeeted to appro vq a p.lan providing for six radio beacqns as soon as he receives a report on the subjeet. The Minister sfaTes that the cost will te about £40,000. The beacons will be installed at Briebane, Sydney, Canberra, Holbrook, Melbourna and Hobart. The type under construetion is the Lprenz ultra-high-frequency shortwavr, operating over a radius of a hundred miles. Aviation authorrEies consider that the plan to provide a system of air navigation will equal anything in the world.
