Landslide Crashes Down Hillside ~ : OCCUPANTS ABSENT

CHEISTCHUECH, Last Night. Loosened by phenomenal rain in the backblocks, a landslide crashed down a hill on the West Coast road on Tueaday afternoon and completely destroyed the residence of Alec Bryson, xoadman, employed betweep Cass and the Bealey. Nobody was in the house at the time, Mrs Bryaon and two children having left by the express for the West Coast earlier in the "day. Had they been in the house tEey must have boei# smothered, for when the landslide stopped there was little or nothiug to be seen of * the building.
