ALMOST A TOTAL CLEARANCE
Prices g enernlly were firm on Wellington rates at yeaterday*» wool sale «fc Napier, the third of the current season, and brokers made practically u total clearance of their offerings at auction. The quality of the clips was riot of the same standard m at the December and January saies, there being a bigger prppprtipn of seedy and inferior wool on offer, and the wool was heavier in condition. Buying was well spread, but Japanese purchasing was HPt so prominent as at the previous saies, the Continent and Bradford taking more interest, with Ihe United States apd Cenada also securinga number of lines. Dominion mills assisted demand with their taking of suitable lines for their trade. Top price for the sale was 18|d, for six bales of Lincoln wool offered on account of Mr. W, D. JFIeming, this.figure being the highest realised for this dass of wool in the Dominion this season. Lambc' wool made to 181d, this price being gb|ained by.My. JJ. G. Daiby.
