Now that general planting is limiteci. qne should get busy and elean up ihe garden generally. Plenty of work i? waiting. Weed all paths, dig over all spare ground, rake up_ dead leaves and burn rubbish. Repair all broken fences and keep spades, forks, etc,# well oijeid and cleaned. ,V arious pests fill the garden and it is every gardener's dutv to kill these ont. If everybody work'ed on the game lines gardening would be a grqat deai easier. For cabbage-fly twe Black Leaf 40,. two teaspoonfuls to a gallon, For eaterpiller and all leaf -eating inseets spray with arsenate of lead. Make sowings of all root crops suc'n as carrots, beet, and turnips. Even if a little of each is sown, it is better than nothing.
