The final Rainbow Shield swinmnng carnivalj which is to be held at the Maddison Baths) Hastings ? on E' jday evening, will suitably ring down the curtain on the season's .-»ctivities. Havelock have established a 'ead that will be hard to overtake, but a vi'ring effort will be made by the other two clubB. The distances on this occasion are considerably longer than in the .earlier contests, and some exc»i!ent contests should result. Added interest will be attached to the carnival by the appearance of D. P. Lindsay and 11. Symon, of Dannevirke, who will ewim in tpecial events.
