London Comment on H.B. Show Entriei EXCELLENT BREEDfNG Messrs Henry S. Fitter and Sons, Ltd., Smithfield, London, have submitted the followifig report on tbe lainbs exhibited at the Hawke 's Bay A. and P. Society's shoUr in Octobier last in Class 279. This class provicled for three lambs, any breed or CrosS, most suitable for th'e English mafket. ThA iirst award has befen given to the exhibit by Mr Gawen Holdeh. Referring to the claSs in gtneral Messrs. Henry S. Fitter & Sons state: "Once again the exhibits in this class were a splendid lot of lambs. Most of tbe weights were very suitable for the trade, while the carcases were tull of meat without being too fdt. The eicellence of the breeding was repeatedly commented upon by the trade. The lambs . were mostly very frfesh in appearancb and cafried a nice bloom. The dressing Was all that cduld be depired, and if anything, whs better than in lormer yehrs. The frost lamb in the show was frbm Pen No. 964 (Mrs C. M. Bichmond) and was £erfect in every way. not too fat; the most.popular sjze fof the London market, short legs, thick shpulders and good backs, — and in our opinio'n tbe most suitable for th'e trade. No. 954, Allen M. Williams (2nd) — Three magnificpnt lambs, full of meat and npt too fat, short legs, thick shoulders and good backs. No.' 971, T, J. Thompson and Sons (3rd)-— Three beautifully bred lapibs, full of meat and not too fat; short legs, thick shoulders and good backs. No. 964, Mn$ C. M. Richmond (4th)— Three very good lambs; two inplined to bp a iittle fat. No. 953, Allen M. WilUatps (5th)— Thr^e vefy well made iambs, not too fat. , No. 946, A_. E. . Lang — Very gpbd InmbS, but inclined to be a shade wasteful, ' No. 947, L. M. Pattullo — Good lambs out. rather plain on legs. No. 948, L. M. Pattullo — Very nseful well bred lambs, but one rather waste* fuL No. 949, H. E. Clark — Good strong meaty lambs. ! No. 930/ H. R. Clark— "Well bred lainbs, but a shade unfinished. No. 952, R. 8. Reed— Good lambs, but slightly plain on the legs. No. 852, R. S. Reed — Good lambs, but rather plain on the legs. No. 955, Allen M. Williams— —Three vSry well made lambs. No. 956, E. M. Priest — Two very good lambs; one npt quite eo good. No. 965, Mrs C. M- Richmond — Very well bred and useful laipbs. Np. 968, Torran Station — Excellent little lamfrSj but rather piifinished. No. 969, Torran Station—1 iVo very good lambs, one rather plain on the frark. No 970, "W, Richmond — Three very nico lambs. No. 972, John Lyons— Very upeful (ambs, but not quite finished, No. 973, Jfohn Lyoiis— Three useful meaty lambs. No. 974, T. White — Two very well made lambs, cue rather wasteful. No. 975, T. White — Str'ong meaty iambs, but rather unfinished. No. 976, Estate W. P. Thompson— Three good lamba. No. 977, J. M. Joll— Three meaty lambs, but inclined to be rather wasteful. No. 978, W. R. Speers — Three strpng good meaty lambs. No. 986, John Barker — Three good lambs, ftill of meat ahd not too fat. No.. 987, John Barker— Nice lambs but not quite finished.
