The total ainount of European rates levied was £29,106 18/10, and the collection is the best that the council has experienced since 1929-30. For the year ended March 31, 1936, the council collected 94.2 per cent of the European rates. As the currejit year does not end until March 31, it is most likely that the collection of 95.6 per cent to date will be improved upon.
