OBITUARY
MR S. McMILLAN The death occurred last week in a private hospital at Hamiltpn of Mr. John Stanley McMillan, a well-known farmer of Bruntwood. The late Mr. McMillan was born in Cambridge 41 years ago and was educated at the Cambridge District Itigh School. In 1913 he was a member of the volunteer mpunted police who helppd tp qupll the Auckland strike. He seryed in the Great War, and on Ma retprn topk up farming at Bruntwood where he brought in a large area pf swamp couhtry which to day ie ideal farming land, Eor many years Mr,. McMillan was a prominent flgure in the hnnting field, and hig e*cellent horsemanehip gained him sevexal wins at point to point races and in riding eventa at agricultural shows. He was a steward at the Cambridge Show. and an executive member of the Waikato Hunt. He was a member Of the Hautapu Draraagp Board, He married in 1928 Miss Cooper, of Auckland, and is survived by her and by one son, Messrs. B, A. and D, McMillan are brothers. Mr. William McMillan, his father, lost his wife last week.
