Palmer, Of Napier, who is on the staff of the legal fiim of Messrs Harker# Helleur and Le Pine# has acceptfed a Bimilar position with Messrs Webb, Richmond, Swann and Bryan, oi Wellington, and leaves Napier by tomorrow morning 's express train. Mr Lawrence Garbutt Williains, sOn of Mr Ej A. Williams, of Napier, Who recently1 passed his R.I.B.A. examination at Home, has now received advice that he has been admitted as an associate member of the institnte. Mr L. F. P. Taylor has been appointed assistant instructor to the Wellington Aero Club. At present he holds the rank of Flying Officer in No. 2 (Bomber) Squadron of the New Zeaiand Air Forcc. Mr Leo Burns, an old Glive boy, who has been fOr Some time in eharge of the Post Office at Wellington East, has been promoted to the charge of the Te Aro Post Office. He was the recipient Of .a presentation from his fellowofficers on the staff at Wellington East bCfore leaving that office, Before the departure of Mr E. Waipole on transfer ais telegraph engineer at Napier, after having held a similar position in Gisborne for four years, the staff of the engineer's department assembled to bid the popular officer farewell. A presentation of a golf bag to Mr Walpolet was made"by Mr A. Y. Chapman, 'senior mechanician. Mf H. O. Ohoyce, who for many years was principal of the firm of Milne and Ohoyce, Auckland, celebrated his 97th birtbday on Friday. Born in Leicester, England, Mr Ohoyce, after receiving part of his education in France, became an appfentice to a wholesale draper in London. He arrived in New Zealand in 1866. After spending a few years Working in the bush and on the Thames goldfields, he re-entered the drapery business in the early seventies. Later he joined the iirm that bears his name, continuing to play an active part in it until he retired about 16 years ago.
