HOUSEKEEPING AWARDS GIVEN IN GERMANY Good housekeeping — long extolled in Germany — has now been accorded official reward. All efficient housewives there who have fulfilled certain conditions are, in future, to be given the title of "Master of Houseliold Economy." To attam this distincfcion, the housewives must be over the age of 24, and they must have conducted their own households for five years, jncluding the running of accounts, and have taken a special course in houseliold duties lasting two years. The course includes traiuing in sucli household duties as dusting, sweeping, polishing, laundry, ironing, sewing, furnishing, cooking, hygiene, education of children, training of maids — the Nazi ideology. More than* 700 German women have already fulfilled these conditions, and have been granted the new title, which enables them to train young girls to be "perfect" maids.
